The
Dennis Patrick Boogie
(M. Barker)
Blue
says to Bidy, "Would you come here, Honey
I need me a partner to play some gin rummy
Mark and Roy they just got here
And would you bring me a can of that good cold beer”
Bidy says to Roy, "When you boys play again' us
How come it’s me that always gets stuck with Dennis?
He can't play cards and it just ain't fair"
Blue says, "Bidy, I'll take you upstairs"
Old
Dennis Patrick is a good ol' soul
He likes to play the pinball machine up at Joe's
He's a dandy player, but he never double flips
He keeps a Camel cigarette hangin on his lips
Plays for fun and he has no guilt
I've never seen him shake it and I've seldom seen him tilt
One day that old machine was acting bizarre
He says, “Surry, this thang has gone hayware”
Van was getting mad and he reared back and hit it
Old Blue says "Boys, don't never quit it
Don't never give up, that ain't no good at all
Well I've got more than a thousand on a ball”
A few minutes later Donald Ray walks in
Blue looks up and asks Bud where's he's been
He grabs him in a head lock and gives him a noogie
And that’s what I call The Dennis Patrick Boogie
